PARLIAMENT OF WHORES
by P.J. O'Rourke
published: 1991
.
“It is a popular delusion that the government wastes vast amounts of money through inefficiency and sloth. Enormous effort and elaborate planning are required to waste this much money.”
~ P.J. O’Rourke
.
Once upon a time, oh, about a year ago, I was on the john, with my P.J. bottoms loitering around my ankles, and minding my own “business.” I had one of my Uncle John’s Bathroom Readers in my lap (Uncle John and the john were just made for each other) and I was reading a page that contained a lot of funny remarks related to politics. I noticed that the several excerpts that had been penned by one P.J. O’ROURKE elicited the greatest laughs from me, so I determined to find out just who this P.J. was and where he’d been my whole life. After a little Ammyland surfing, I purchased his book PARLIAMENT OF WHORES.
.
Just last week, I was on an America West flight to Northern Nevada. At the airport, after taking everything from me that one could never commandeer an airplane with, and making me remove my belt and shoes and self-respect, the powers that be somehow let me waltz onto the plane with PARLIAMENT OF WHORES -- a very dangerous book. I mean, had I begun reading aloud, I could have convulsed the pilots, the flight crew, and the air marshal with laughter and taken control of Flight #522.
.
Instead, I read silently to myself, and laughed out loud every thirty seconds or so. This aroused the curiosity of the woman sitting next to me who asked what I was reading. I said, “Parliament Of Whores by P.J. O’Rourke” but somehow what she heard was, “Will you tell me your life story?” So she proceeded to tell me how she had gotten married at Lake Tahoe and bred dogs for a living. Or maybe it was that she earned her bread at Lake Tahoe and had married a dog. To be honest, I wasn’t paying that much attention, but merely trying to nod and smile when I thought it was appropriate, and stealing another sentence or two from O’Rourke’s book every time she paused between chapters in her oral autobiography. (She did offer me her little bag of pretzels, so at least I got something from her besides an earache.)
.
PALIAMENT OF WHORES is P.J.’s 1991 account of a journalist’s inside look at politics and how it affects American Life. And trust me, it’s no laughing matter, which is exactly why we must laught at it. It’s laugh or go postal, but since the postal service is tied to the federal government, it’s better that we laugh.
.
P.J. says, “I have tried to present a factual – data-filled, at any rate – account of how this government works. Which is complicated by the fact that it doesn’t.” But if you think a journalist should instead be writing about things that are more relevant and of greater interest to most Americans, P.J. did promise in the Acknowledgments that his next book was going to be about “Madonna’s Illegitimate UFO Diet To Cure AIDS And Find Elvis.”
.
On page 103, O’Rourke confesses that he is “a real Republican” but then adds, “unlike some current presidents of the United States I could name.” That unnamed “presidents” he referred to was, of course, George H. W. Bush. Now it’s his equally un-Republican son, George W. Bush, who occupies The White House, proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the Bush.
.
But don’t let the fact that P.J. is a Republican dissuade you from reading PARLIAMENT OF WHORES if you happen to be a Democrat because Ol’ P.J. absolutely grills EVERYONE in this laugh-out-loud book. And why not? The federal government has taken it upon itself to warn the nation that undercooked eggs and meat are unhealthy. And is raw government any better for us? It too deserves a good grilling, and P.J. is just the chef to do it!
.
Now, I can’t say that P.J. never misses the nail’s head and hits his own thumb. For example, on page 78 he states that the Supreme Court opening a session with “God save the United States and this Honorable Court” is a clear violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution. This is surprisingly sloppy reporting coming from a man who makes his living with words. The First Amendment says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” And that’s what the Constitution, in its entirety, has to say about religion. So, when did the Supreme Court become Congress? And since when is stating, “God save the United States and this Honorable Court” the establishment of a law? (And has anybody informed God that He is now bound by law to do these things?)
.
On page 119, P.J. questions the wisdom of the illegality of recreational drugs. I think keeping these chemicals out of the hands (and arms, and lungs) of as many people as possible is indeed wise. The only exception being those funny smelling “cigarettes” which my buddy at work, The Great L.C., and I agree should be treated in like manner as alcohol, for they have, if anything, even less potential for harm: Put 10 guys into a room with loud music and bottles and bottles of booze, and it’s a sure bet that before the evening is over, one (or more) of those guys will get roughed up. But put the same 10 guys into the same room with the same loud music, and replace the booze with “wacky weed” and the only things that are gonna get roughed up are bags of potato chips.
.
But other than these rare disagreements, I found PALIAMENT OF WHORES to be wickedly accurate and whorribly humorous. Wait’ll you read the suggestions the author makes for reducing federal expenditures ('O’Rourke’s Circumcision and Budget Liposuction'), and the way he dissects the Special Interest Groups ('The Original Barrel Of Monkeys That Nothing Is More Fun Than'). This thing is simply a howl from one end to the other; the funniest book I’ve read in a very long time. Heck, one of the funniest books I’ve ever read at ANY time! It’s “seriously funny” like Mark Twain. And I am no more ashamed to have PARLIAMENT OF WHORES standing in my bookcase between The Declaration Of Independence and 'The Heritage Guide To The Constitution' than I am to have Twain’s 'ROUGHING IT' standing between 'Saloons Of The Old West' and 'I Married Wyatt Earp'. Aw, well, you know what I mean.
.
In the final analysis – after his study of how our government works [sic] – O’Rourke concludes that what we suspected all along is true: “Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.” Nevertheless, watching P.J. T.P. the U.S. is the best cry you’ll ever laugh. I’ll be voting P.J. for President in 2008, even though he’s too smart to run... except away.

WHAT THE MANGY DOGS DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW!

McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES:
The Record And Its Meaning
by William F. Buckley Jr. and L. Brent Bozell
copyright: 1954
.
In a very recent email to an Amazon.com friend, I recommended McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES: The Record And Its Meaning by William F. Buckley Jr. and L. Brent Bozell. Then I added: “I should post a review of Buckley's book on Ammyland, too, one of these days. But I'm always thinking: Who's gonna read it now? Old out-of-print book about a subject that everyone thinks is dead and decided.” But the fact is that recently I DID submit a review for Roy Cohn’s excellent book, McCARTHY, and I got to thinking: If I don’t inform the public about these outstanding old books that sort out the myths and the lies of the Liberal spinmeisters from the truth and the hidden history, who will? Should I wait for Al Franken, Al Gore, or Alan Colmes to do it? It seems al be waiting a very long time if I do!
.
Along with Cohn’s aforementioned title, it was the extraordinarily well-documented information in McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES that transformed me years ago from being just another sheep in the flock of American Sheeple (who assume that the broadly used but seldom understood pejorative catchword “McCarthyism” stands for some injurious black mark on the American psyche) into a well-informed but heartbroken fan of the most unfairly maligned and tragically heroic character in our country’s history.
.
Heartbroken? As I said to a different Pal not long ago in referring to my Amazon review of the movie Good Night, And Good Luck: “When it comes to Senator McCarthy, my heart is in a perpetually broken state. I loathe what the powers did to him and his good name. ... It is a national disgrace that the American people don't know the true McCarthy story and have instead been brainwashed (quite literally) into believing that he was some kind of evil and a menace to American society and American principles. He was a flawed hero, but far more heroic than flawed!”
.
Before using the term “McCarthyism” (or allowing someone else to use it in your presence) you owe it to yourself to get acquainted with the facts of the case. Would you pronounce a man guilty of a crime before hearing the evidence? McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES will provide you with the information necessary to render a judgment either for or against the infamous Senator from Wisconsin. The book is meticulously researched and flawlessly organized, and to the best of my knowledge, remains the most comprehensive examination of McCarthy’s part in the so-called “Red Scare” that is bound between covers. [*This changed with M. Stanton Evans’ magnum opus, BLACKLISTED BY HISTORY: The Real Story Of Joseph McCarthy And His Fight Against America's Enemies. Get your nasty, politically incorrect hands on a copy!*]
.
Buckley and Bozell have herein addressed nearly every one of the oft repeated liberal complaints against McCarthy: unsubstantiated accusations; “smearing” innocent people; publicizing his charges; hiding behind Congressional immunity; impugning the loyalty of his critics; and even the assertion that “McCarthyism” represented some rogue “Reign of Terror” to enforce a strict conformity upon the country.
.
The authors make a concerted effort to bend over backwards in making the most of the Liberal positions (e.g., in Appendix D, they state: “We have selected those of McCarthy’s characterizations that are the most derogatory, thus those that make out the strongest case for a charge that he is a reckless smearer.”) While this approach leads Buckley and Bozell to give the benefit of the doubt to the anti-McCarthyites in an instance here and an instance there (where I would not necessarily concur), I’ll state unhesitatingly that they chose the right tactic, as this invalidates the predictable bitching from the Leftists that McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES is a mere unfounded polemic.
.
Did you know that the derisive epithet “McCARTHYISM” was coined by a man later found by the Senate Subcommittee on Internal Security to be “a conscious articulate instrument of the Soviet conspiracy”? [pg. 62] (Something you might want to consider before using it yourself or affixing too much value to it when you see it in print.)
.
Did you know that McCarthy was once blamed by a New York Rabbi for “undergarment raids” committed by college men in women’s dormitories? [pg. 308] (Give those Libs credit for fantastic imaginations that nearly match their inability to process facts and reach “reasonable” conclusions.)
.
Did you know that McCarthy made public only 9 of the 110 security risks he named before the Tydings Committee (and only because his opposition, for all intents and purposes, pressured him into it), and that during his “Reign of Terror”, the Grand Inquisitor of the 20th Century publicly accused only 46 persons of questionable loyalty or reliability? [pg. 273] According to the authors, “With the two exceptions of Drew Pearson and George Marshall, not a single person was accused by McCarthy whose loyalty could not be questioned on the basis of a most responsible reading of official records.” [pg. 277]
.
I, however, do not agree with Buckley on every point: On page 313 he writes, “Impulsively, and absurdly, McCarthy denounced government sponsorship of books which follow the Communist party line.” I would suggest you wait to read Roy Cohn’s account of this episode in McCARTHY before assuming the Wisconsin Senator’s stance was “absurd.”
.
In chapter XII, Buckley over intellectualizes and renders unnecessarily convoluted the arriving at an acceptable definition of a “loyalty risk.” The plain truth of the matter is that the USA was designed as a Constitutional Republic, and the Constitution proclaims itself to be “the supreme law of the land.” (Article VI) Our elected leaders are sworn to uphold and protect our Constitution, and therefore, anyone who undermines, or enables another individual to undermine, the clear intent of the Constitution and/or our constitutional republican form of government is a “loyalty risk.” (And, yes, the Constitution IS clear; only judicial activists -- usually Socialists / Communists -- muddy its meaning.)
.
And in Appendix F, Buckley explains why he believes that McCarthy deserved to be criticized for his imputation of treasonable motives to George Marshall’s policies regarding China. While Buckley concedes that Marshall probably deserves the title of “America’s most disastrous general”, he is willing to attribute his inordinate number of major foreign policy blunders (17) to “irrationality”. And yet, in citing Dorothy Kenyon’s involvement with 28 Communist front organizations, Buckley infers that her loyalty status was at least suspect. Sorry, Buckley Boy, but you can’t have it both ways. I tend to agree with McCarthy: “If Marshall were merely stupid, the laws of probability would dictate that part of his decisions would serve his country’s interest.”
.
Nevertheless, McCARTHY AND HIS ENEMIES is profound; a remarkably well-researched and revealing study to which I give my highest recommendation. Roy Cohn’s 'McCARTHY' might be a better starting point for the neophyte student of “McCarthyism” as it is more personal and therefore more accessible. This book, being primarily a recitation of cold, hard evidence, may seem a bit “dry” to the uninitiated, but once your interest in the subject is whetted, I’m sure you’ll devour every fascinating fact with the same relish that I did. (For a brief but accurate overview of the subject, click HERE.)
.
“McCARTHYISM”: Communist propaganda term or a scandalous period on a formerly great country’s record? Examine the evidence for yourself and render your verdict. While the uninformed may think that this is all just ancient history, I tell you this: The Communist threat is NOT dead, only the vilified Wisconsin Senator is.

NO POLITICAL TURTLES HERE (They All Stuck Their Necks Out!)
.
.
2Oth CENTURY HEROES
by American Opinion Publishing, Inc.
copyright: 2000
.
My family participates in a "Mystery Santa / Gift Theft" game every Christmas Eve. A few years back, I anonymously brought a copy of 20TH CENTURY HEROES for the game, hoping to swipe it for myself -- which I did. "Santa" knows what I like.
.
20TH CENTURY HEROES is a fine book, featuring well-researched and nicely written profiles of "25 extraordinary individuals [who] helped steer the course of history away from the tyranny of the Total State." These people were GREAT GIRAFFES, not POLITICAL TURTLES! The book is loaded with photographs and 5 to 10 pages are dedicated to each hero.
.
In his Introduction, Gary Benoit writes: "On the surface at least, the tragic history of the last century does not appear to offer much hope for the survival of our Christian-style civilization ... the 20th-century prologue to the new millenium could be described as the rise of the Total State -- the totalitarian "isms" (Communism, Nazism, Facism), under which the ruling elite exercise absolute power without any religious, moral, or legal constraints. ... Of course, none of the heroes honored in this book was perfect; all of them were sinners. Yet, by the grace of God, they were able to perform heroic deeds in spite of man's fallen nature and, in many cases, to rally their countrymen in defense of freedom."
.
The 25 individuals are profiled under the following categories...
.
MARTIAL VALOR:
Douglas MacArthur / George Patton / Draza Mihailovich / Henri Guisan
.
STATESMANSHIP:
Chiang Kai-shek / Francisco Franco / Antonio de Oliveira Salazar / Syngman Rhee / Moise Tshombe / Augusto Pinochet / Robert Taft
.
FAITH, COURAGE, CHARACTER:
Jozsef Cardinal Mindszenty / John Birch / Charles Lindberg / Ezra Taft Benson / Booker T. Washington
.
SCHOLARSHIP, PHILOSOPHY, IMAGINATION:
Ludwig von Mises / G.K. Chesterton / C.S. Lewis / Taylor Caldwell / Yoey O'Dogherty
.
FREEDOM ACTIVISM:
John T. Flynn / Martin Dies / Joseph McCarthy / Dan Smoot / Robert Welch
.
I have an affinity for any book that sets the record straight concerning the calumny STILL being upchucked by the mass media about Senator Joseph McCarthy -- (TV Guide's Dec. 5-11, 2004 issue featured 'The 100 Most Memorable TV Moments!' Coming in at #39, "HAVE YOU NO SHAME?" [6/9/54]: "At the Army-McCarthy hearings, the lawyer's question for the senator finally shows who the real enemy is." *Anybody who believes that is in dire need of deprogramming!)
.
Although the man died before I was born, I feel an intense pain in my heart for McCarthy, and embarrassment for how this country turned its back on that truly heroic patriot. America was not worthy of him. Even less so now.
.
'The New American' magazine (an organ of the John Birch Society) is quite possibly the finest current events periodical in the country (see [link> www.thenewamerican.com). Since these essays first appeared in its pages, it is no surprise that John Birch and Robert Welch are included.
.
20TH CENTURY HEROES will be a valuable research tool in the bookshelf of any real American patriot concerned with the struggle between liberty and despotism, between the free enterprise system and State-controlled abject collectivism. However, my mind being devoid of Panglossian delusions, I am convinced that this book and the great truths it explores will remain largely ignored by this and future generations and to the detriment of global societies!

Of course, none of the heroes honored in this book was perfect; all of them were sinners. Yet, by the grace of God, they were able to perform heroic deeds in spite of man's fallen nature and, in many cases, to rally their countrymen in defense of freedom."

Douglas MacArthur / George Patton / Draza Mihailovich / Henri Guisan
.

ILLUMINATIng The Shadows
.
.
THE SHADOWS OF POWER
by James Perloff
published: 1988
.
The vast majority of Americans believe that the U.S. is engaged in a "Culture War". Indeed, this is true, but where they go wrong is in assuming that the war is carried out by two titanic forces known as the Democrat and Republican parties -- the white and black-hatted combatants, or the black and white-hatted combatants, depending upon where the observer stands. The truth is that BOTH parties are wearing black hats, and the raging battle played out daily in Washington and the various media outlets is for public consumption only. The REAL war theater is elsewhere.
.
My best analogy is a "Punch-And-Judy" show. While the audience (the public at large) is engrossed in the fisticuffs between two warring enemies, behind the scenes, a single entity controls both participants. If you wish to see beyond the marionettes and get a look at the puppeteer, you'll need to read printed material that exists outside of The Establishment's imprimatur. Such as James Perloff's 'THE SHADOWS OF POWER'.
.
I can hear a few of you balking already: "It sounds like he's referring to a... a...a... (shhh!)... conspiracy."
.
Welcome to the REAL world, friend! It's about time you woke up and smelled the arsenic! 'THE SHADOWS OF POWER' is a well-researched and well-written expose on the heart of the matter: The Council On Foreign Relations (C.F.R.) -- which is not "Ground Zero" of the Conspiracy, but it does represent the visible moving parts, the meshing gears, the framers and roofers and electricians building 'The New World Order' structure from the blueprint provided by the "architects" hidden from public view -- the "wizards" behind the curtain.
.
More than you know, you need to read this book if you...
.
* Have no idea what the C.F.R. is and wants.
.
* Think the Federal Reserve, which controls the U.S. economy, is a government agency.
.
* Wonder why the U.S. sent young men to fight Communism in Asia only 3 years after permitting (and assisting in) the establishment of a Soviet satellite just 150 miles off the coast of Florida.
.
* Still can't figure out how and why the U.S. lost that war with two-bit Communists in Asia.
.
* Were watching nice little stories on the Seven O'Clock news about Presidents Bill 'n' Hill [*See them tote their Bible to church and sing praises with the congregation.]; their nice daughter, Chelsea; and their nice little dog, Buddy, while sensitive technology with military capability was being sold to the Red Chinese without comment from the mainstream media.
.
One chapter of particular interest is 'A Second Look At Ronald Reagan'. Reagan "chalked up more government debt than all the Presidents before him COMBINED!" He was touted as an enemy of taxation and big government, and yet, although he did cut tax rates, he "also pushed through the largest single tax increase in our nation's history, as well as boosts in the gasoline and Social Security taxes." Although critical of Jimmy Carter for abiding by the Salt II Treaty, which the Senate didn't ratify, later as President, Reagan ordered two Poseidon ballistic missile submarines DISMANTLED to ensure we stayed within Salt II limits. And that's just the beginning!
.
'The Media Blackout' chapter is also very enlightening. Here we learn of Nicaragua's former President Anastasio Somoza's complaint about the deliberate hatchet job he received at the hands of Dan Rather and 60 Minutes. It reveals the power to promote an agenda and sway the public perception that major print and media outlets possess. And it should force most Americans to reconsider how many of their current beliefs might have been artificially induced by the manipulative mainstream media.
.
Although the book was published in 1988, it's every bit as relevant now as it was then because the C.F.R. program hasn't changed -- evidenced by today's headlines, and discerned by anyone who knows how the game is played.
.
If there's ONE thing I've learned in studying politics over these many years, it's this: It's NEVER what politicians SAY that counts; it's strictly what they DO. To the detriment of the People of the United States, when the Democrat party takes power, it usually keeps its campaign promises. Equally detrimental, the Republican party doesn't. And because I love the U.S. Constitution, I despise them both! Get this book and see who is standing in the shadows and pulling the strings on those two puppets.

“JOURNALISM’S AYATOLLAHS OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.” [Page 102]

BIAS:
A CBS Insider Exposes How The Media Distort The News
by Bernard Goldberg
published: 2001
.
“Before September 11, the media elites, too often, behaved badly. And they will again”, BERNARD GOLDBERG writes on the first page of his important and impressive book, BIAS. “It is, after all, who they are.”
.
I must begin by saying how much I respect and admire the courageous Mr. Goldberg. This is a self-professed “liberal”, a man who acknowledges that he had never voted for a Republican candidate for president in his entire life! And yet, he put his liberal ass on the line when he publicly confessed and complained about liberal bias in the news media. Not the liberal values mind you -- those he mostly endorsed -- but the bias, the way the media distorts the truth to manipulate the perceptions of the (easily manipulated) masses.
.
Writing BIAS was not an act of courage, as that came after Goldberg’s retirement from CBS, when he could not be hurt by the revelation, and could only benefit from the book sales. No, his great act of bravery and neck-outta-the-turtle-shell honesty came in the form of a 1996 Wall Street Journal op-ed piece in which he criticized his industry for its underhanded practices while he was still dependent upon that industry for a paycheck. Goldberg is the proverbial dog who bites the hand that feeds it. And in short order, he was treated like a cur, given a one-way ticket to Pariahville. But he expected as much and did it anyway because he believes in fair play. Though politically, Goldberg and I have next to nothing in common, if I ever met him at Jolly Jacks, I’d buy the man a “Kocktale”. He’s a rare breed in today’s world of politics.
.
The two factors that make this book a watershed publication on this subject are 1) that the exposure of the media’s Leftist slant (yeah, a “slant” like a “lien” on the truth) comes not from a protesting Conservative, but a dyed-in-the-wool lib, and 2) the slant is not just admitted but illustrated -- illustrated with unimpeachable examples and research into how, and how many times, certain socially important stories were framed and deliberately hung crookedly in the media museum for all the world to see. (You know, like this... ;-) See the Left-leaning reporter wink? That wascally weporter winks ‘cawse he pulls the wiberal wool over yer TV-satuwated eyebawls.)
.
But what I liked was the book’s tone -- it’s both humorous and hard-hitting. Goldberg pulls no punches on his old cronies. Consider these examples:
.
* “If arrogance were a crime, there wouldn’t be enough jail cells in the entire United States to hold all the people in TV news.” [Pg. 186]
.
* “They love diversity in the newsroom. That’s what they say, anyway. They love diversity of color, diversity of gender, diversity of sexual orientation. But God forbid someone in their diverse newsroom has a diverse view about how the news ought to be presented. When that happens, these champions of diversity quake in their boots and practically make in their pants.” [Pg. 32]
.
* “I know that homelessness ceased to exist because I watch television news. If homeless people still existed, Dan and Tom and Peter would have them all over the news ... I could be wrong, but I think homelessness ended the day Bill Clinton was sworn in as president. Which is one of those incredible coincidences, since it pretty much began the day Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president. What are the odds?” [Pg. 71]
.
In blowing the whistle on the Liberal bias of both print and broadcast news sources, Goldberg tells us that “everybody to the right of Lenin is a ‘right-winger’, as far as the media elites are concerned. [Pg. 13] ... liberals have an uneasy feeling about tax cuts in general and are downright hostile to the kinds of cuts that benefit the wealthy in particular, even if they also help a lot of other Americans ... [liberal opposition to the flat tax] was visceral, from the same dark region that produces envy and the seemingly unquenchable liberal need to wage class warfare.” [Pg. 19]
.
Do you realize what Goldberg just called liberals (whether he really meant to or not)? Well, if you’re not educated enough to figure it out, I’m not going to spell it out for you. Like hell I’m not! C-O-M-M-U-N-I-S-T-S. There! It’s out! Now maybe we can make some real progress in this political debate between Liberalism and Conservatism, America.
.
The only aspect of Golberg’s BIAS that I must take issue with is his insistence that “there isn’t a well-orchestrated, vast left-wing conspiracy in America’s newsrooms.” He writes, “It is not some sinister plot, but about how mostly liberal journalists tend to frame stories from a mostly Liberal point of view ... No, we don’t sit around in dark corners and plan strategies on how we’re going to slant the news. We don’t have to. It comes naturally to most reporters.”
.
I have no doubt that’s true. But by his own admission, members of the media “vote overwhelmingly Democratic.” [Pg. 118]; “By and large, the media elites, really are liberal. And Democrats, too.” [Pg. 122]; that there is “a disproportionate number of liberals” in the media [Pg.120]; and “in the world of media elites, Democrats outnumber Republicans by twelve to one.” [Pg. 124]
.
No “left-wing conspiracy”? Hey, I didn’t just fall off the “potatoe” truck, ya know? (A nod to Dan Quayle there. An aside: You wanna learn how to spell better than a U.S. vice president? Just remember it this way: MR. POTATO HEAD only gets an “e” when he’s hangin’ out with other “potatoes.” Likewise his Marxist/Feminist girlfriend, MS. TOMATO HEAD. She only gets an “e” when she’s hangin’ out with her “Red” comrades, the other “tomatoes.”)
.
But look, in a country fairly evenly split between Democrats (Liberals) and Republicans (?), and the success of alternative news sources proving no lack of Republican interest in the media, the huge disparity between the number of Dems and Reps in the mainstream media indicates a “Left-wing conspiracy” in hiring practices. Maybe there’s no collusion in the newsroom, but there would have to be one at the level where employment decisions are being made. How else did the newsrooms become so Liberal, and how did they maintain that Liberal “lien” on the media decade after decade? [See the book (link:] NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON: 25 YEARS LATER by John Stormer.]
.
Other than this one disagreement, I found BIAS by Bernard Goldberg to be a solid indictment of the mainstream media’s bias. An exceptional book! Wanna see how this country’s view of things like Homelessness, AIDS, Feminism, and Affirmative Action was shaped by the media? BIAS is your book and Bernard Goldberg is your writer. Despite being a Democrat, his insistence that, at the least, the opposing Conservative viewpoint deserved to be heard, proved to me that he is more “good man” than “bad liberal.” Goldberg is Left but right, and you should buy his book.

THE “SMARTEST” DECISION I EVER MADE...
.
.
BRAINWASHED:
How Universities Indoctrinate America's Youth
by Ben Shapiro
published: 2004
.
...was to forgo a college “education.” Why? Because I managed to avoid the type of brainwashing that Ben Shapiro so clearly illustrates in his book BRAINWASHED.
.
I recently [circa 2004] arrived home from work surprised to find BRAINWASHED in my mailbox. It had been sent to me by a good friend in Kansas (I’ll call him “Kevin” [1]) whose nice Sister I dated for five years over a decade ago. “Kevin” sent it because, as he said, "it’s a good book” and he wrote, “I expect a full review of this.” (This is the review, with footnotes!)
.
Because Ben Shapiro was a columnist for UCLA’s newspaper, THE DAILY BRUIN, and because I have a significant connection with UCLA, “Kevin” thought I’d find the book particularly interesting. He was right. I was born a “Bruin” at the UCLA Medical Center in 1959 [2] and worked for the campus Parking Department for nearly a decade. I remember all too well the dogmatic Liberalism of the indoctrinated students and the pronounced Leftist lean of the school’s Socialistic bullhorn, THE DAILY RUIN. [3] (I’d try reading it over dinner at The Cooperage food court but it would invariably “ruin” my appetite!)
.
Ben’s book is very good, and though I’ve given it an overall grade of Four Stars, if you have a son or daughter currently (or soon to be) enrolled at ANY university in this country, then you should consider this a Five Star book and run -- don’t walk -- to acquire a copy of it. [4]
.
In BRAINWASHED, Ben addresses many pillars of Liberalism and shows how they are promoted throughout the university system. One of the most cherished, of course, is Affirmative Action which provides us with “Diversity” which is that essential tool for creating the strength of “Unity.” [5] On page 53, we meet that rare Latino student who approves of Ben Shapiro’s anti-Affirmative Action protest because he doesn’t “want everyone thinking whatever I do in life, I got the opportunity to do it because of my race. It’s insulting.” That reminded me of “Kevin’s” Sister. I met her on the UCLA campus while she was a student. One trait that attracted me to her was her independent stance and determination to make it in life on merit and not a “gimme.” She was half Mexican [6] and therefore eligible to check the “Hispanic” box when applying to UCLA, but she told me she marked “White” instead because she didn’t want to always wonder if she was accepted merely because of ethnicity. [7]
.
Another section of Ben’s book that elicited some very personal UCLA-related memories for me was titled RODNEY KING AND THE LOS ANGELES "UPRISING". I was a UCLA employee at the time of the L.A. Riots and I still find it somewhat ironic that the first night that rioting broke out, I was meeting my best friend from the department -- I’ll call him “Lonnie” [8] -- after work for video game competitions, which we commonly referred to as “Ass-Whuppins”. [9] “Lonnie” was Black. [10] That the jury found the police officers innocent in the beating of Rodney King was reprehensible. The aftermath even more so.
.
Back then, I was supervising student employees and responsible for training them in various aspects of special events preparation and equipment maintenance. One student I remember fondly was a young, Black comic book artist whom I’ll call “Stephen”. [11] Shortly after the Rodney King riots, he and I discussed the issue and I explained many factors that the media, the politicians, the police, and the citizens were either ignoring or not cognizant of. Afterwards, “Stephen”, this young Black man, paid me one of the finest compliments I’ve ever received. I won’t state what he said [12] as it might seem boastful and self-serving, but his ability to set aside emotion and preconceived judgments in order to gain real understanding of complex dynamics filled me with hope for our young, Socialistically-indoctrinated university students.
.
Under Partisan Politics, Ben discusses minimum wage laws. He understands the folly. I got an object lesson in it many years ago: Being an ice cream junkie, I was a regular at Dairy Queen. One day I noticed that the price of their “Blizzards” had gone up and I enquired about it. The manager answered honestly, “The minimum wage went up, so our prices did too.”
.
Got that? The companies aren’t going to see the wage increase cut into their profit margins so they pass the increased cost on to you, the customer. Now, who generally earns a “minimum wage” in this country? Young people who are employed at fast food restaurants, video stores, convenience markets, music shops, smoke shops, etc. Where do young people spend most of their money? Fast food restaurants, video stores, convenience markets, music shops, smoke shops, etc. Their minimum wage increase gets absorbed into the market the moment they receive it because of the raised prices to cover the wage increase. Their financial situation therefore hasn’t improved one whit, but don’t the Leftist politicians look so “humanitarian” when they fight for the Little Guy?
.
The only area in which Ben Shapiro needs to do a little more “homework” is The War On Terrorism. He is misguided by the Neo-Conservative party line in this regard and needs to ask hard but reasonable questions and insist upon reasonable answers. I found Chapters 8 and 9 to be the obvious weak links in an otherwise very good and important book. (But Genetically Modified Crops make me nervous, Ben! Can we REALLY improve on God’s “nature”?)
.
On page 78 you’ll find the whole heart of the matter -- as accurate a statement as can be found in any political book by anyone. Ben is undoubtedly more percipient than even he realizes. We’re led to believe that the “solutions” to all of our problems (which were deliberately created by pseudo-Socialists in BOTH major political parties) “is Global Socialism”. What a surprise! [13]
.
I highly recommend BRAINWASHED by Ben Shapiro. And though the writer is a Conservative, I have it on good authority that this one doesn’t burn books, drown cats, mug old women, steal candy from children, or even blow deadly secondhand smoke into the faces of liberals. Read this book and then you’ll understand why colleges are referred to as “institutions of higher education”. [14]

THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO AMERICAN HISTORY
by Thomas Woods, Ph.D.
published: 2004
.
. . . REALITY TV PROGRAMMING 24/7!" This would seem to be contemporary America's answer to Patrick Henry's famous rallying cry. I am under no delusion that America will ever recover from Her present condition: the dogs of Socialism have "marked" all of the territory well and their program of indoctrination has been too thorough and far-reaching -- polluting minds in every public sector -- to be turned back now. It comes as no surprise to me and others who understand how the Socialists operate, that so many reviewers have condemned this book (with many obviously not having read it).
.
In his excellent book, DEDICATION AND LEADERSHIP, former communist publisher Douglas Hyde reveals the organized, systematic attack that Socialists mass against anything detrimental to their cause. And John Stormer in his essential tome, NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON: 25 YEARS LATER, relates how these same lovely folks infiltrate book review panels in order to influence the public reception or rejection of certain publications. A quick glance through the reviews on the product page at Amazon.com testifies to their handiwork.
.
Obviously, however, I'm not implying that every negative review that appears there originates with a card-carrying communist. Clearly some of these people simply wouldn't recognize the truth even if it used their head for a bulletin board!
.
Anybody who denounces this book as being Republican apologetics has either never read it (just following The Daily Worker's marching orders), or else they have no more comprehension of the English language than does the "undocumented" immigrant living next door to you!
.
THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO AMERICAN HISTORY is an effective general overview that illustrates the orignial concept behind our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC and the abuses and usurpations that both Democrat AND Republican administrations have committed against "The Supreme Law Of The Land" (the U.S. Constitution) in reconfiguring America into EXACTLY the sort of country that the Revolutionaries, the first American patriots, fought to divorce themselves from. (F.Y.I., George W. Bush is also no friend to the Constitution that he has sworn to uphold and protect!)
.
I wish this book had been available when I first took it upon myself to learn about my country. It was a circuitous route of intense study that eventually led me to many of the same conclusions represented in this excellent book. While my acquaintance with Indian Affairs and Antitrust issues were minimal, I can confirm the great accuracy of Thomas Woods' book in the areas in which I have considerable knowledge.
.
The writing of Woods is so clear and the book is so reader-friendly formatted that his erudition could be easily understood by most any high school student. This will be particularly appreciated by readers who previously believed that the U.S. Constitution was a document not apprehended by the common mind. THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO AMERICAN HISTORY would still be worth acquiring if all you sought was a basic knowledge of Constitutional principles. Do you want an idea of how far the U.S. has strayed from Constitutional limitations and into totalitarian government? Consider this passage from page 26:
.
"For Thomas Jefferson [the 10th Amendement] was the cornerstone of the entire Constitution... Thomas Jefferson determined the constitutionality of proposed legislation on this basis: If he did not find the power spelled out in Article 1, Section 8, then it remained reserved to the states. It would be un-Constitutional for the federal government to exercise the proposed power. If the Tenth Amendment were still taken seriously, most of the federal government's present activities would not exist. That's why no one in Washington ever mentions it."
.
THOMAS WOODS, JR., holds a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard and a Master's and Ph.D. from Columbia University. He's a contributor to 5 encyclopedias and dozens of scholarly periodicals. CONGRESSMAN RON PAUL (one of only a very few TRUE patriots in Washington) says, "Professor Woods heroically rescues real history from the politically correct memory hole. Every American should read this book."
.
Will Rogers once said that, "The problem in America isn't so much what people don't know; the problem is what people think they know that just ain't so." This book is a welcome corrective, but this is just TRUTH 101 -- the first step to becoming a responsible American citizen. Step Two is to remove all deceiving distractions by killing your Boob Tube and Talk Radio (yes, especially the political Talk Radio) and begin reading. See my guide, 'BECOME AN "EDUCATED" AMERICAN PATRIOT' and read the books I've recommended there. Don't join The John Birch Society, but be sure to visit their impressive site at The New American. Also go to Need To Know News, and you'll be well on your way to becoming another Patrick Henry.
.
At this time, approaching from opposite directions are two trains: the Liberty Train and the Tyranny Train. They will each be pulling into their respective stations before long. My friend, at which depot will you be found waiting?

“THE KID WHO CAME TO THE PARTY AND PEE’D IN THE LEMONADE”
.
.
McCARTHY
by Roy Cohn
published: 1968
.
“I was beginning to feel scared and a little sick. We were being hounded, pushed into a blind alley... For a few brief moments I felt that the best thing would be to pack my bags and get away from Washington and its intrigues. But then a contrary emotion took over. When some people feel trapped, they have the instinct to turn on their foes and fight to a finish. The role of underdog, I discovered, can give one courage.”
~ Roy Cohn; McCARTHY, chapter 9.
.
ROY COHN, chief counsel for the Senate Investigating Committee under Senator Joseph McCarthy, opened his book, McCARTHY, with the following statements in his Prologue:
.
The full portrait of Joe McCarthy and the era in which he rose to such remarkable prominence and power must await the historian’s special training, insight, and distance from the events ... Emerson said, “Whatever games are played with us, we must play no games with ourselves, but deal in our privacy with the last honesty and truth.” To the best of my ability it is this I try to do in the pages that follow.
.
Roy Cohn’s honesty in recounting the good, the bad, and the ugly about the anti-Communist “McCarthy” years makes his book a truly compelling and essential account for anybody who wants to gain a clearer understanding of that monumental American epoch.
.
The full historical perspective that Cohn anticipated in 1968 is nearly upon us:
.
M. Stanton Evans, the historian considered by many to be the preeminent authority on Joseph McCarthy, is due to release his magnum opus, BLACKLISTED BY HISTORY: The Real Story Of Joseph McCarthy And His Fight Against America's Enemies in late March of 2007. I preordered the book 15 months ago, but the release date has been pushed back several times, and I’m now salivating on myself and champing vigorously at the bit. (My greatest fear has been that Evans will go to his grave with the book unfinished. I swear, if he dies before it’s done I’ll k!ll him!)
.
But I’m so eager now to get Evans’ definitive account into my hands that I recently decided to revisit my old copy of McCARTHY by Roy Cohn, and to post a review of it. (Quite frankly, I’m embarrassed that I’ve waited this long to review this important book while having previously posted junk for some silly stuff on this website. All I can say is -– for the godzillionth time -– “Uhp! I’m an idiot!”)
.
McCARTHY is the book that cemented Senator Joseph McCarthy in my mind as one of America’s greatest unsung heroes, and inspired me to adopt his last name as part of my pen name well before I began contributing reviews to Amazon.com (aka BigBitch.com). Certainly it’s the ultimate “insider” view of this chapter in our history -– it doesn’t get any more intimate and behind-the-scenes than McCarthy’s friend and confidant throughout the Army-McCarthy hearings and the Senatorial censure.
.
One might assume that Cohn’s relationship to McCarthy and his involvement in the war against Communism and our government’s cover-up would make him incapable of delivering an objective account. One would be surprised, however, by the degree of honesty presented here. The 14 years between the censure of McCarthy and the writing of Cohn’s book undoubtedly gave the author the distance necessary for the emotional impact to subside and make possible a limpid assessment. Cohn doesn’t flinch and shy away from calling attention to his and McCarthy’s shortcomings. For instance, of his first appearance in the Army-McCarthy hearing witness stand, Cohn calls his own testimony “rambling, garrulous, repetitious, brash, smug, smart-alecky, pompous, and petulant.”
.
He says of McCarthy, “His statements were frequently hasty and ill-prepared ... He played rough politics, occasionally took unfair advantage of people, and said harsh things in public ... I quarreled with him frequently [about his broad-brush approach] and stressed that by using this technique he sometimes placed himself in an indefensible position. But,” Cohn adds, “I never disagreed with the substance of his thesis. ... He had more real personal courage than almost any man I ever knew. ... When he became convinced that Communism was an evil, he took up the battle against its inroads into American life and fought the tough way he had learned how to fight early in life.”
.
McCarthy comes across in Cohn’s book as fully human, with all of his strengths and weaknesses on display, and if you can read it in its entirety and feel no sympathy for the Senator, then it is you whom I fear is not fully human.
.
Through this book you’ll come to know the “man” behind the myth, and you’ll see “the devil in the details” of his great political cause. I tend to think of McCarthy as a Western (Civilization) hero –- kind of a “John Wayne Goes To Washington” character.
.
There’s a great line in the Wayne Western THE UNDEFEATED, where The Duke shoots a villain after an argument erupts during a discussion. He rides back over to the group of people whom he’s protecting, and a properly “civilized” woman berates him, “You went out there to talk! Why did you have to shoot the man?” And John Wayne responds in that famous drawl, “Conversation kind of dried up, ma’am.” Likewise, Joseph McCarthy felt that the time for “nice” talk was over; it was time to take action against Communist infiltration in our government -– take action against communists determined to wreck our Constitutional Republic, to put the people of this nation in great peril and to overturn the American way of life.
.
Senator William Jenner, one of the 22 Republicans who voted against censure of Senator Joe McCarthy, told him, “Joe, you’re the kid who came to the party and pee’d in the lemonade.” In other words, McCarthy wouldn’t shut up and just go along to get along; he raised a ruckus when everyone else just wanted to “socialize.”
.
I urge EVERY American to read McCARTHY, no matter what you may think you already know about the Senator and “McCarthyism”. If all of your information has come from mainstream publications and movies, then trust me, you’ve seen only one side of a two-sided coin. You’ve examined the “Tales” side, now let’s also look at “Heads.” Roy Cohn’s McCARTHY is a great book.
.
While Cohn’s chapter titled “Why They Hated” is an interesting look at the philosophy espoused by the forces that opposed McCarthy, to get a better understanding of the macro view, let me also recommend the books, THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND by G. Edward Griffin, and THE NAKED CAPITALIST by W. Cleon Skousen.
.
“It has been a bitter lesson to come to Washington and see a reputation, gained at some effort, torn to shreds merely because I was associated with Senator McCarthy, who has become the symbol of hatred for all who fear the exposure of Communism.”
~ Roy Cohn; McCARTHY, chapter 16.

"VENGEANCE IS MINE," Saith The Blonde (Coulter 12:19)

GODLESS: The Church Of Liberalism
by Ann Coulter
published: 2006
.
Oh, Ann, Ann, Ann, what are we gonna do with you? Don't you know that you can't just go around telling the truth and grinding poor, defenseless Liberals into powder? It's not done in polite society and it's not... well... I dunno... it's just not NICE. Why you wanna do that for? Especially to Liberals who are such nice people... other than their propensity to lie, slander, and teach immorality to the school children who managed to survive their legalized amusement park, Abortionland.
.
OK, I'll be more serious now that I've gotten rid of all the Libs. I really enjoyed Ann Coulter's new sermon, 'GODLESS: The Church Of Liberalism', which has the potential to jimmy open the minds and eyes of a lot of people if only we could get anyone outside of "the choir" to actually read it.
.
'GODLESS' is classic Coulter: 281 pages that spill the beans on the degenerate Liberal (read: Communistic) agenda while simultaneously and often humorously piercing the most notorious Libs with that sharp "devil" tongue of hers. Ann loves to roll around in the mud pit with the nastiest boys 'n' girls from the Left. And why not? The chick pins 'em nearly every time! The text had me laughing out loud and shaking my head one minute and then raising and shaking my fist at our society-razers the next.
.
Coulter preaches this time by framing her political discourse in a Judeo-Christian BELIEVER VS. UNBELIEVER format, and while at times her religious theme is tenuous at best (Chapter 3 - The Martyr: Willie Horton), at other times it is perfectly apropos (the four chapters dealing with Evolution, for instance).
.
I knew Ann was going to be in fine form when the following sentence from page 19 got me some curious stares while I was having breakfast in my local IHOP. I was laughing so uncontrollably that I shook my sunnyside ups into scrambled eggs!: "Throughout the 2004 campaign, the Democrats were looking for a Democrat who believed in God -- a pursuit similar to a woman searching for a boyfriend in a room full of choreographers."
.
By now, everyone has heard the great controversy about the comment, "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much" from the fifth chapter which deals with the 9/11 New Jersey Widows. Just the other day, I said to a friend in an E-mail: "That remark appears in what I consider the book's weakest chapter and I don't care for the comment either. Even for Coulter, that was a bit over-the-top and I wish she hadn't written it because it gives the Liberals one little "sound bite" (text bite?) they can replay over and over again to turn people against her book without having to deal with the 99.9% of the book that is right on target and needs to be answered."
.
I consider that the book's weakest chapter because I believe that it has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that numerous people in the current administration knew in advance when and where the 9/11 attacks would occur and allowed them to take place as justification to invade the Middle East. (You study it THOROUGHLY, like I have, before labeling me a "loon.")
.
However, Ann's best chapters are the four that address that Monkey Business called "Evolution." Because this is a high-profile Ann Coulter book, I am heartened to know that now many Americans who didn't know any better will be exposed to the truth about Evolution. (Did I just use the words "truth" and "Evolution" in the same sentence? Hokey-Smoke! How funny is that?!)
.
Also from that same E-mail to that same friend: "I was already aware of almost all of the information in the Evolution chapters, but the average American who hasn't studied the subject will find it new and revealing. And because Coulter reaches millions and millions with her books, the lie about Evolution is about to become commonly known amongst the American people. I love that. I love that they won't be able to pull that bullshit on the sleeping populace for much longer. I predict that -- thanks to this one book -- we're going to see some powerful movements in this country to either remove the teaching of Evolution in this country's classrooms, or else see it being balanced in some way with the introduction of Intelligent Design."
.
Coulter cuts through the "crapola" (that's a Liberal landscape colored over with an excrement-hued Crayola crayon, in case you didn't know) in typical Coulter fashion with logical insights like this:
.
In 2004, Gloria Steinem cited Hitler's opposition to abortion in order to compare him to President Bush: "Among the first things [Hitler] did when he came to office was declare abortion a crime against the state." In a column titled "Hitlers Great and Small," Ellen Goodman said Pro-Lifers "surely know that Hitler was a hard-line opponent of abortion." (Did that make him Pro-Life?) Hitler also loved dogs -- that doesn't mean we should beat the little creatures. [Pg. 273]
.
Although I don't always agree with her, Ann Coulter is currently one of my favorite living writers. No one else makes me laugh harder or more often. No one else made me open my eyes to the fact that Janet Reno looks eerily like Elton John. Just mere coincidence that we've never seen them together at a Democrat fund-raiser? Hmmm....

Will We Wake Up Now, Or Wait Until The MOURNING?

NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER
by John Stormer
published: 1990
.
I attempt to season some of my reviews with a pinch of levity, but that will not be the case in this instance because I find nothing even remotely amusing about this subject!
.
NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER is John Stormer's 1990 update of his original 1964 classic which documents Communist infiltration of the United States government as well as many other public opinion-molding sectors of American life. Mr. Stormer conclusively shows how our long-cherished American Principles have been subverted by Communistic methodology which utilizes the press, court rulings, the labor movements, the education system, tax-exempt foundation grants, government influence, and (believe it or not) even religious publications to exert pressure from above and below in order to reconfigure our framework and adapt existing structures to accomodate Socialistic goals.
.
The person who tells you that this is all just paranoid delusion and innuendo unsupported by any verifiable documentation is DELIBERATELY misleading you! NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER is one of the most thoroughly researched books I have ever encountered during my lifelong reading addiction! The exhaustive reference section spans a full 25 pages of minuscule print that cites countless books, textbooks, articles, Congressional records, administrative reports, official bulletins, treaty protocols, sworn testimony from government hearings, and most significantly, myriad Communist publications and reviews. It's not that there is just a "mountain of evidence" to support every one of Stormer's charges -- that mountain is the size of Everest!
.
Let me assure you that the scenario presented in this magnificent masterpiece of research is as relevant to us today as the day it was first published -- this despite the "appearance" of Communism's collapse in the Soviet Union. (You should know that this democratic "false front" and even the demolition of the Berlin Wall was foretold as far back as 1982 by the top-level KGB defector Anatoliy Golitsyn in his book NEW LIES FOR OLD. This book is still in print and so you can verify for yourself his accuracy in revealing the Communist ploy years in advance.)
.
Why has the United States government made a pretense of fighting Communism all the while giving aid to Socialist States; securing their infrastructure and feeding their people at American tax-payer expense? As Stormer so accurately points out on page 66: "EVERY COMMUNIST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD LITERALLY HAS A 'MADE IN THE USA' STAMP."
.
Think about this: Isn't just the idea that the world's great superpower could not manage to emerge victorious from the "police actions" in Korea and Vietnam simply ridiculous on its face? "Winning" was never the objective of our "leaders", and Stormer proves this beyond all doubt!
.
Reading this book for the first time many years ago and thinking about all of our service men killed overseas and their families torn apart and scarred forever, there were many times that I slammed it down in rage -- really not sure that I could bear to read on. Although it's a moot point for me, if I had a son who was contemplating enlisting in the armed forces (or facing conscription), I would consider it my obligation as a responsible parent to insist that he read John Stormer's book before making any decision. What I would give to have been able to get this book into the hands of Pat Tillman before he sacrificed his NFL career and then his life in Afghanistan! God bless and keep that noble man.
.
You can be sure that there are many individuals out there who DO NOT want you to read NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER. They are hoping that the American People will continue to sit lobotomized before the boob tube and let sleeping dogs lie. Except these dogs aren't really asleep; it is we who snooze while they plot our demise!
.
A self-professed Communist [at Amazon.com] frantically insisted that "Nobody should read this book! ... Do not buy this book!" And that is all the confirmation that you should need in order to ascertain that, in fact, EVERYBODY should read this book, and that YOU should buy this book. I urge you to do that NOW!
.
To summarize: NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER is the heartbreaking and nauseating truth about our government's love affair with Communism. For those who lost loved ones in the Korean or Vietnam "police actions" this book will be particularly disturbing. Without a trace of hyperbole I tell you that Five Stars does not come remotely close to doing justice to the merits of this great work. It is of nearly singular distinction and unquestionably one of the most important books I have ever read!
.
NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON ...25 YEARS LATER would still be standing if I were forced to clear my bookshelves of every political tome save three. A highlighted and well-worn copy of it should be found in the personal library of virtually EVERY true American patriot, right alongside G. Edward Griffin's THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND.
.
We The People we had better wake up pretty darn quick, otherwise the MOURNING will soon be upon us!
